365 Days Of Granny Squares

I have been crocheting for many years. I admit I generally stay with the most simple stitches, but a friend of mine (the person who taught me to crochet in Jr High School) took a Yarnutopia challenge of 365 Different Granny Squares for each day of 2018.

Excerpt from (https://sosimplyso.com/2018/01/01/begin-again-and-granny-square-1/)

“A fun thing I have decided to do is to make a granny square a day using the 365 Squares found on Yarnutopia by Nadia Fuad. (https://yarnutopia.com/365-days-of-granny-squares/). She has a YouTube video for each different kind of square. They look like a ton of fun, and many of them look like a fun challenge.”

Day one was a basic square that I’ve made millions of times. Day 2 should have been simple as well but turns out that counting the ‘little holes’ made by the stitches to make the next row in, is much harder than counting the ‘big holes’ like in a basic square. Plus I had to do a little squishing to get the Day 2 square to lie down flat.

I think they are both supposed to be the same size, so I already flubbed that up but I’m going to try to keep at it none the less. Perhaps it will be fixed when the squares are blocked.

  1. Gosh! yours look much better than mine!

    • Thanks but I still didn’t get my count correct on all of the sides. I forgot to push over the corner stitches like she told us to make sure to get that one small stitch to begin the row. Will have to watch more closely when repeating this type of square.

  2. Lovely! One they are put together, you’ll never see the size difference. Don’t sweat it! 🙂
