Funds for Writers-Great Book!

One of the hardest things about becoming a writer is taking yourself seriously. When a person who has never published a book says they are a writer, people just nod, and say, “How quaint, a writer.” It is a bit better if you are fortunate enough to have some published newspaper or magazine articles, but many people will shrug that off as a fluke rather than talent and hard work.

When facing confidence breakers, it is such a relief to find a book by a person who cares about people who wish to become freelance writers. The C. Hope Clark book The Best of Funds for Writers, Vol 1 is packed full of information and confidence building that struggling writers need. The format is 32 short personal essays which hold attention rather than long boring textbook type writing.

Her accompanying website has been recognized by Writer’s Digest in its 101 Best Websites for Writers for over 15 years! She offers a free version of her website to allow writers to become engaged immediately. A proof of purchase from any C. Hope Clark book will entitle that person to a year subscription for her Total Funds for Writers site (value @ $18.00 USA). The Total package website contains additional information for writing jobs and contests which pay credible wages or winnings to their contributors.

  1. How interesting, Darlene! This is great information for any writer; struggling or not..

  2. Thanks for the review and thanks for passing the book along to me. I got it today.

    • You are welcome. It is an easy read. Some writing books are so long winded and stuffy. Her essays and the essays of her guests get to the point quickly. I like that.

  3. I’d never heard of this book before. I’ll bet it’s a gold mine for writers, serious or not.

Also, your post has been published on Guest in Jest and already getting comments! Yay! Feel free to reblog on your blog.

  4. I never heard of this book but building confidence is a good thing.

  5. But as long as we keep trying that is what really matters. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this blog and the replies.
